Pooja Mundada is a member of ISHA (Indian Speech and Hearing Association) and RCI (Rehab Council of India). She has received her Bachelors degree and Master's degree from Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Pooja has worked in various hospital set ups and schools during her internship where she has worked with children with disability of various age groups (Asha Nilaya School and Vocational Rehabilitation Center for Mentally Challenged, Manasa Rehabilitation Training Center, TMA Pai Hospital – Udupi). She has also worked as a fellow in voice and swallowing clinic at Bombay hospital where she gained experience in management of voice disorders and dysphagia management. Pooja has also gained experienced in different approaches such as LSVT OPT NMES Vital Stim. She is Trained in using Computerized Speech Lab (CSL), Multi-dimensional Speech Profile (MDVP) and VAGHMI. She has extensively worked with children with delayed speech and language skills, phonological and articulation disorder and adults with voice disorders. She believes in holistic management and thus has conducted various outdoor group therapy sessions and also collaborated with other professionals while managing her patients. She also takes keen intrest in aphasia, dysarthria and dysphagia management. She has actively participated in various seminars and workshops and won the Best Paper presentation Award for ‘Disfluencies in typically Fluent young English dominant Bilingual Adults – An Observational Study’ at the conference 'Recent trends in Assessment and Management of Individuals with stuttering'. She has also done poster presentation in 13th Phonosurgery Workshop,Mumbai. Her research areas are in fluency and voice disorders. She was a team Member for writing and data collection for the research paper ‘Voice therapy in Sulcus Vocalis’. She has also participated in workshops designed to educate parents, caregivers, and teachers about speech-language disorders, impact on academics and social behavior, and strategies for development. With a sincere desire to ease the struggle of communication and her professionalism she is able to make tailor made plans and provide best intervention for her patients.
