Watching a child makes it obvious that the development of his mind comes through his movements
Every child is unique — therapy should be too.” This is Dr.Alka Riya Paul, Occupational Therapist passionate about helping children build the skills they need to thrive in their everyday lives. Since beginning my professional journey in 2022, I’ve had the privilege of working with children across a wide range of developmental needs — from fine-motor , sensory challenges , attention, coordination, and daily-living skills and much more . My experience spans across hospitals, therapy centres, and child-development programs, including: • Prayatna, where I began my career in 2022 and built a strong foundation in pediatric occupational therapy. • Solace Neurobehavioral and Child Guidance Centre, where I worked from February 2023, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to support children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. • Wellness Hub, where I currently work, providing both online and offline therapy sessions focused on empowering children and guiding families through practical, everyday strategies. “Therapy is not about perfection — it’s about progress, no matter how small.” Each child I meet teaches me something new. I believe that therapy works best when it feels like play — joyful, motivating, and filled with moments of success. My sessions are designed to be interactive, engaging, and goal-oriented, helping children not only improve their skills but also feel proud of their achievements. I also place a strong emphasis on family involvement. I truly believe that children progress most when parents, therapists, and teachers work together. In every session, I guide families with simple, practical strategies they can easily use at home to continue supporting their child’s growth and independence. “The best part of my work is witnessing the spark in a child’s eyes when they realize — ‘I can do it!’” My goal as a therapist is to make therapy enjoyable, empowering, and meaningful — full of little victories that add up to big changes. I'd highly recommend Alka to any families in need of occupational therapy I appreciate Her patience and dedication in helping my Son. Her tips are really helpful. She is quick to implement techniques that address immediate concerns.
